The final attempt!

Greetings one and all

This is my final attempt to get this blog on the move, I have so much to update and it never makes it to this page, what a waste of webspace!

BUT FEAR NOT! Change has come and I have something new that may just entice you to click the follow button on my blog ;-)

'THE CAKEGIRL CO.' LTD has made a grand entrance and is about to change partying as you know it! Homemade delicious cake and sweet custard is about to take over the dance floor. This in no way contradicts my constant battle against cellulite and obesity, I promote moderation and good living, cake keeps me balanced and exercise keeps me healthy!

Check out the FB link to see what popping and stay tuned into the blogg for all the interesting updates you might not see on the Facebook!

Toodles for now,

BUM BUM BUM!

So today we look at bums!! My friend asks me "How do I get my bum bigger?" It's funny that only a couple decades a go in the west big bums were a big no no, now they are all the rage!

No matter how under/overweight you are generally most people's natural shape is still obvious, you can be big and curvy or big and flat just as you can be skinny with the figure of J-Lo or the modest figure of Pippa Middleton. You have to be real about what your body is really like as unfortunately you cannot change your bone structure... BUT you can build muscle, burn fat and prevent/decrease the appearance of cellulite to enhance your natural body shape.

Are you any of these?

Or maybe you're an in between? Whatever you are there's never a point in complaining unless you're going to do something about it! If you're happy with your jelly but not so happy with the cellulite or the stretch marks, reach for the trainers and coco butter! If you'd like to build some shape into your bum there are exercises that you can do to build the muscle which helps to develop your shape!

Click this link for some tried and tested exercises to ensure progress: http://www.facebook.com/groups/203790773015469/

Better still, why not come to class and I'll show how it's really done, I've got some great exercises to build muscle, burn fat and tone your backside!

War on Cellulite?

Today I declare a war on cellulite and unnecessary spillage!

YES we're all different, NO we cannot all look like J-LO BUT we can all take care of ourselves and our bodies have the right not to be tortured by laziness and very rubbish excuses!!

Yeah I might have it easy, I'm only a size 10 on bad days, I have long legs, a flat stomach and relatively clear skin but I work for it and I charge you to consider what it is you could do for yourself to let your body reach its full potential!

As a nanny I know how hard it is with children to find time for yourself, as a dancer I know how hard it is for your body to get used to exercising everyday or a few times a week and as a woman I know how emotional it can be to wish you were one way while eating cake, drinking wine (or beer on a really hard day) and watch Beyonce shake her jelly on MTV Base... but this is where it can stop!

You're hot anyway and NO it's not about looking like the "media" want you too but it's about having a little bit of dignity there's nothing wrong with being a size 16 but there's something wrong with you giving up, being 4 sizes bigger than your body is designed to carry... got a sore back? Maybe start walking some more...

-__-

I'll keep this short because I'm updating the facebook group with information to get you started but there are a few small, easy and free things you can do to start you off:

  • Walk more!! Maybe a couple of bus stops before you get on the bus? or get off early?
  • Drink more water! Most people eat because they think they are hungry and really your body is crying out for water! Plus you need to flush out, POOING is a great way to shift some weight and get rid of unwanted toxins, dont store it up!! Let the water do the work for you and then give yourself some time to get rid of it all!
  • Don't eat late! Have a cut off point of maybe 8pm?? That way you'll give your body sometime to digest and burn some of that fat....

This is a challenge, try it and then tell me how you get on!! The first week is the hardest then your home free, you might even make it to one of my classes and meet some of the clients that have lost weight and as Tracey says "Dem all av' small waists!"

So life has come together again!!

Isn't it crazy the things that can happen day by day? I've cried, laughed, travelled and prayed A LOT this month and I must testify God has come out victorious for me (praise him pentecostal stylee).

And so from here some things to look forward to from september onwards:

  • Starting MA Theology this year, it will be a year of deep thinking, spiritual development and the odd moment of bewilderment I'm sure!
  • The progression of ICI (In Christ's Image) I have a fresh passion that will not die out but where will it lead to???

Eat and stay thin!

So it's about time I put some real knowledge out there, as a fitness instructor I get asked a lot of questions about dieting. One thing I will say before I go on is that if your on a commercial diet, kindly STOP.
The next few blogs I feel will be devoted to eating and exercise for those who dont come to my classes you can get tips via this blog.

Diet is literally to describe what we eat, so I've used the phrase commercial diet for all those who no longer eat bread, NEVER have a slice of CAKE (God forbid) and are having vegetable juice or maple syrup and water all day... long term all these are NO GOOD.

I came across a CD called Eat and Stay Thin by Joyce Meyers, and though she is a Christian speaker, the message is based on scientific and psychological facts. There is no need to regurgitate what she said but the points she made are in line with a lot of my own beliefs about food, and I found it very useful having just recovered from an eating disorder myself (thats a blog for another day).

  • When you cut out foods and put yourself under the bondage of a strict eating plan, you give food the power over your life and eventually it will win. How many times have you started a new diet??
  • Let's be real you can cant actually live like this for the rest of your life....? Eventually you'll have to stop and then what? Get fat or die trying to be thin?
  • It's not cake or sweets, bread or butter that makes you fat it's too much of anything. MODERATION AND BLANCE IS KEY.
  • Commercial dieting messes up your natural body system in a way that causes you body to want to become bigger as a way of fighting against starvation or lack of nutrients.
  • When you stop dieting, it'll all come back and you'll be bigger than ever
  • EAT WHEN YOUR BODY IS HUNGRY, NOT WHEN YOUR MIND IS HUNGRY. (big difference)
  • It's not 'too late' when your body feels hungry, thats the point of the hungry feeling, it's a function not to be condemned!
I'll stop here for now, these are just a few points to ponder until the next blog, I'll be giving advise on ways to work out a healthy way to eat and to live, we have can't have our life revolving around what we're eating, food SERVES US remember?

Happy Eating!
